Trio Bars

I discovered Trio Bars at Costco recently.
A gluten free "granola" bar, they are actually made up of seeds, nuts, dried fruit, cane juice (sugar), and sea salt.
They only contain 8 grams of sugar.
They have 230 calories and 16 grams of fat, which may seem like a lot, but keep in mind it is heart-friendly fat that our bodies need!
I ate one for breakfast one morning, and the protein and fat kept me full for hours.
They taste amazing-so much better than over-sugary granola bars that are basically just candy bars in disguise.
The purchasing price on the website is $.99 a bar, but at Costco, I bought a box of 20 for 9.99 for a unit price of $.49 a bar.
I haven't been this excited about any kind of food from a package in a long time!

Touchy subjects
Sara Kay has had 2 really great blog entries in a row, and since childbirth related issues have been on my mind lately, I'm linking them here.
The first on home birth.
The second on the "measles outbreak '08" and vaccines.
I'd like to say that I ditto her entire first paragraph on the entry regarding vaccines.
My take on it, is that either way, you're trusting in something, and agree that it is deeply personal and a decision not to be taken lightly either way.

Fig + Sage
My best friend Erin, and her sister Stancie have had the opportunity to test out a wonderful assortment of natural products in order to sell them through their own organic online boutique.
The business element is still in beginning stages, but they have set up a blog with reviews of all of the products they have tested. It is wonderfully written, and they have some amazing products featured, so please check it out!

We find, personally test & review the best organic personal care, eco-friendly & non-toxic products for you, your guy/girl, your baby, your pet & your home!
Fig+Sage is a collaboration of two sisters who grew up on the Central Coast of California, who until adulthood were enemies until becoming allies and great friends. We share a passion for the more natural things in life, thanks to our Mother, who was more inclined to treat our wounds with tea tree oil than to rush us to a doctor and whom we inherited a desire for natural food, skin care and alternative medicine. Our Father (who is currently producing bio-diesel fuel in his garage), passed down to us his tenacity for researching topics he is passionate about rather than believing the hype. The combination of the two resulted in an obsession-of-sorts for discovering the very best products for ourselves, our families & our friends. This site is dedicated to pure, natural, organic products & eco-friendly finds for you, your guy/girl, your baby, your pet and your home. Have questions, suggestions, just want to say 'hey' or you would like to submit a product for our review? Feel free to email us at: hello (AT) figandsage (DOT) com! Take Good Care, S+E

Birth
I've been meaning to post this video for awhile, and after this article came out today, correlating "convienience c-sections" with a rise in premature births, I thought it was a good time to post:
